Class prophecy...

creativity by Chaz and Ely, two of my closest friends, now and forever. I still miss those carefree days, no need to struggle for a living because our parents are rich (haha), hope we find time to together.

March 24, 2008—it was the day of English majors’ Kick-off Party. There was loud music. There were so many lights sparkling at the Students’ Lounge. There were so many people having fun left and right. Everyone was enjoying the shindig when a strange lightning flashed above the sky. A huge thunder struck the party place.

No longer was there music. Sparkling lights were no longer there. People seemed to have suddenly vanished from the scene except for two of the seniors. They were Eleazar Cuela and Chazzeka Donor.

Eleazar suddenly woke up. He was yelling, “Chaz, Tan, Jill, where are you? Everyone?” Nobody answered and nothing appeared except for a flash from the sky. While looking at the sky, he again fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Chazzeka was awakened by the soft and warm caress of the wind. Everything was cloudy white and no one else was there. She walked around and endlessly until she found a cotton candy-scented scroll. She picked it up and never knew what happened next.

A lightning flashed again from the sky, yet this time, a sweet sound of thunder had followed it. There was loud music again. There were so many lights sparkling at the Students’ Lounge. There were so many people having fun left and right.

Eleazar and Chazzeka experienced a feeling of déjà vu.

Ely said, “Chazzy, do you know what I’m thinking?’

“Yes, B1, I think I’m thinking what you’re thinking!” she exclaimed.

Ely grabbed the microphone, and said:

It was mid May when the ABS CBN Company, owned and managed by the competitive businesswoman Charlotte Bautista and her husband Marlon Martinez who is also a business tycoon, granted me a two-week vacation to prepare for a more tiring shooting of my next movie project to be taken abroad. The company let me prepare the things needed on the quest for new set-ups and trends on movie industry.

With deep excitement, I could feel sigh of relief from deep hard work when I was preparing my belongings for my short vacation. I could remember the city of

Legazpi

when I last viewed it 10 years ago. Now, I heard that city is already enjoying the taste of economic progress under the leadership of Hon. Arnie Bolaños, awarded as the top governor in the entire

Philippines

. Ten years away from it, I couldn’t imagine the whole picturesque structure of the land where I was born. With what I was thinking, it made me more vigilant and intense with the hours passing by.

At eight o’clock in the morning, I was on my way from the

Manila

Domestic

Airport

to Bicol. Forty-five minutes after, I was awakened by the voice telling us that we’re approaching

Legazpi

City

Airport

, my destination. I prepared myself and I could figure the peak of those towering buildings from a far. When we finally embarked, I exclaimed in great wonder with the superb technological advancement waiting us. I felt total stranger to my homeland. Those towering and gigantic establishments along the road may entice you to roam around it. The twinkling of those starry lights can engulf your sight. Not only that, I was also surprised by the huge billboards with Careen Almonte’s face on it; she was endorsing Pond’s Skin Care products. I felt everything was a dream yet it was true.

I decided not to waste the time, so I finally went on shopping. Minutes after, I was one of those busy people roaming around the city. I went first to the city’s pride, the newly established RD Mall. I was stunned for it has the unique splendor in its design resembling the works of some famous Greek architects. Roaming around the mall, I passed an information board. With my curiosity, I read it and exclaimed that the owner of the mall was actually Rizza Dado. I resumed my refreshment although it was uncomfortable for there were lots of people inside. While walking, I was bumped by a smart lady, who I foundWendra Banzuela picking up the papers messed around. She was the Chief Executive Officer of the mall.

We departed few minutes later for she had to meet Joan Faye Andes, the main investor for the mall’s newest branch in

Cebu

City

. I passed a booth of a book exhibit of well-renowned and patronized authors. I was tempted to scan one work. Scanning the pages and reading some passages of the novel, I remember a certain person. I was overwhelmed with pride when I learned that the author was my classmate Rose Copada.

While on the escalator, I could hear people grasping. It was from the cinema center of the mall where most people can be found falling in line pushing each other just to get in. To my surprise, it was the movie that I have recently produced and directed, the country’s top grosser movie and famous abroad casted by the leading actors of the Philippines Ronwaldo Dizon, Jennifer Asaula and Mark Azupardo. I was so thankful for the help of Hanzel Botinas its musical score director and main editor and of the rest of my movies.

After those untiring refreshments, I decided to go back to my homeland for I was tired. Darkness finally ruled over the land and I kept on looking to those streetlights with its eye catching radiance. The way it was built was a big enigma for those who will observe it.

I had arrived late at home and rested for a minute. I lay down on the sofa and turned on my television. I was falling asleep yet two familiar voices made me want to watch the TV program. I saw Louie Raguero and Bolor Abdhollahbiki on TV. They were the new talk show hosts of the program that replaced Korina Sanchez’ Rated K.

Weeks swiftly passed, I received a call from the company and the team was ready for our project. Early in the morning, the sun was shining brightly with its radiance. We were at the

Ninoy

Aquino

International

Airport

(NAIA), on the airport; I met the crews, staffs and artists of the movie that we’re going to produce. The story was originally written by Monica Apuli.Jason Boniel was the head of the Creative Team on Cinematography.

The plane was on board. Two ladies in white assisted us to look for our seats. They were beautiful stewardesses. To my surprise, they were Rachel Abejuroand Marbeth Degala. Parallel to my seat was a fair lady who captured my attention. When I carefully looked at her, I was delighted for she was Jemika Camagong. She told me she was going to sign a contract to franchise

Disney

Land

Park

in the

Philippines

.

The plane finally embarked on

London

. We lodged in a popular five star hotel. When we were in the porch, the lobby has an elegant and imperceptive decorations and designs matched with the finest building structure. I really felt at home when I learned that it was actually designed and owned by the sought-after and impregnable international interior designer Chazzeka O. Donor, together with her husband Peter. They were living there for at least five years with their children.

“That ends my vision,” he said.

“That’s a very nice apparition, Ely. Oh, how I wish it would come true,” said she.

When she walked on her way to the lectern, she stepped on a scroll. She picked it up, and realized it was the same cotton candy-scented scroll that she had seen in her dream—if it was really a dream. She decided to read it in front of the whole English majors.

Written on the scroll reads:
